Corrective Movement

Navigating “health” can be challenging in a world with a lot of conflicting messages about what it even means to be “healthy”. It can be especially challenging if you are queer and/or neurodivergent. Most advice out there does not take into account challenges with executive functioning, sensory issues, and the extra energy that it takes to navigate life in a neurotypical world.

You might find that you get too rigid, that you can never stick to a plan, or that you oscillate between the two (i.e. you hyperfixate on something passionately for a week until you abruptly lose interest). Maybe you think it might be good to move more, but you may fear the gym because it’s too overstimulating, everyone else seems to know what to do, or it is just not something you have any interest in. You might find that your gender dysphoria is aggravated by movement or you are not quite sure how to move in your body as you transition.

Wherever you are, let’s explore what might work for you!

  • We can explore different types of movements to find ones that you enjoy (i.e. strength training, cardio dance, boxing, yoga, pilates, walking/running, outdoor activities)..

  • We can explore your needs for stimulation and sensory input while navigating executive functioning challenges.

  • If you are wrestling with common, chronic issues of discomfort/pain that impact your life, we can talk about corrective movement sessions
